The Goddess Nemesis Project

The band is hard at work. Hopefully we’ll be done by the end of autumn.

Usual thanks

We’d like to again thank everyone who came to the Gödöllõ concert, and all those who encouraged us a Progfeszt in Pécs! We had a great time at both gigs, and you’re all great!!! A few photos of the Gödöllo concert >>> HERE..

Photos

We’ve taken a few photos of the new lineup. You can see them HERE.

Ákos remembrance concert

Thanks to everyone who paid their respects along with us. Check out photos of the concert HERE.

We’ve found Nemesis’ new bass guitarist!
Gábor Krecsmarik has become Beró’s successor . So Nemesis’ third lineup is now in place. More about Gábor HERE...
Auditions

Next week, Sunday (March 7), we’re holding auditions to see who will replace Beró...

Thanks
Thanks to everyone who came to our last two gigs!!! You can check out photos from the URIAH HEEP concert already, and the Ákos remembrance concert photos will be up soon too...
Beró’s leaving...
On this day (January 15, 2004) Beró (Csaba Berczelly) announced his desire to leave the band.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his work and perseverance to date.
He’s doing the right thing by us and will play all booked gigs.
From now on, Nemesis is LOOKING FOR
A BASS GUITARIST!
More gigs

On February 11, we’ll be playing in the Marco Polo Pub in Budapest with Black Diamonds. Progfeszt in Pécs is on April 3, and we’ll be playing before Dead Soul Tribe.

Future concerts
The Taste Of Metal Festival program is still under construction, but there are already a few concrete dates: March 26, Gödöllo- Trafó, April 17, Budapest, Mega Pub. You can get further details later on our website, but the festival will have its own site at: http://tom.mystic.hu
Concert in memory of Ákos
On February 27 we’ll be playing a concert at the Wigwam in memory of our deceased singer Ákos Thorday who passed away last summer. On this night, the former UNICUM STATES will play together, complemented with Gyuri Nagy and Zoli Kiss who will also play a few tracks in memory of Ákos. Something else that will be special: we’ll play 2 tracks with the old lineup including Pici and Misi, but Zoli will sing...
Fan Club?
This is a totally new thing for us! We’ve just made a new, official bootleg-style CD which contains tracks that have not yet been released, and tracks that are only available through us (such as covers, re-recorded tracks and first time recordings). We figured that everyone who orders this CD from us will automatically become a member of N. F. C. (Nemesis Fan Club), and will receive newsletters about the band, concessions at larger events relating to the band, and will be able to order future new albums from us before their official release date, provided that our contractual arrangements facilitate this. We’ll do our best to make this little “present” available to everyone around mid December. All you’ll have to do is send an email to a specified address, and we’ll mail you the CD. In the meantime, keep checking here, and we’ll keep you posted about how things are progressing…
Joining Forces
Balu, the lead singer of the Budapest band Neverwood had an idea, and, as a result, it looks like we’re gonna be playing festival type gigs again from the start of next year. NEVERWOOD, AFTER@ALL, WENDIGO (which formed from members of Da Capo, Stonehenge and Behinia) and NEMESIS have joined forces, and we’re gonna be playing joint gigs together! There’ll be a separate website with all details. Naturally we’ll have all the info here on our own site too.
New Promo
We’ve broken off all contact with Sensory because they didn’t release our “Psychogeist” album in time (in fact, they didn’t release it at all!). Actually, we ordered several hundred copies of our “Eden?” album for purchase from them - which we wanted to use for promotional purposes – but the CD’s never arrived. Yet Sensory told us several times that they’d already sent them… Funny that…?! We also want to get “Terra” out to as many music fans worldwide as possible, and that’s why we’ve made another promo called “For Promotional Use Only II”. The interesting thing about it is that it’s a multimedia DVD (cos we couldn’t fit all the material onto a CD). And, seeing that it’s a DVD, we made a separate DVD section with two clips and a photo album… Hence the HTML material plays on a PC, while the DVD stuff, obviously, plays on a DVD player. We’re not sending these to record labels, but rather to management companies. Naturally we’ll keep you posted about how things develop.
THE FLOWER KINGS in Budapest!!!
We’ve been given 45 minutes of playing time ahead of the Swedish prog rock gods!!! We’re not gonna play our regular type of show this time ‘round. We’re gonna be doin’ certain instrumental tracks and all-in-all it’ll be a “lighter”, more concentrated program than usual, at the request of the Swedish management. We can hardly wait! THIS IS COMPULSORY FOR EVERYONE!!!
Ákos Thorday 1967-2003

The saddest news of 2003… Ákos left us on August 16, 2003. We simply can’t believe it, even now… May you rest in peace. We hope your soul has found tranquility in the Land of Lights. We’ll remember you forever.

And something else
Other outstanding issues: The two Woodhouse tracks, Rainbow: Gates of Babylon, Queensryche: Mission, and the clip to Fate’s Door can be seen HERE. I’ve also put up a heap of photos; you can even find pics of the old formation HERE.
What's happening nowadays...3.
Over the years, we’ve amassed a mass of video material, so we’ve decided to produce a VHS cassette of the band’s history to date. We’re compiling and editing it at the moment… so we’ve got heaps to do :-)
What's happening nowadays...2.
We’ve also made an English version of Terra Incognita. We’re going to make another promo CD from that and the instrumental promo, because we’re looking for a label (again) since the Sensory contract was only for 2 albums.
What's happening nowadays...1.
We’ve been “owing” with the instrumental album for quite a while, remember? So, I’m pleased to announce that we’ve made a 10 track demo CD that will probably be titled “AbNormal Smile”, unless we get a better idea. We’ve got to practice it a bit yet, and then it’s off to the studio… Get a feel of it with a few mp3 excerpts HERE.
Concerts, in general...
Don’t want to complain, but things aren’t to rosy on the concert front. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to play a great deal, and what’s worse is that that’s through no fault of our own! The conditions on the Hungarian club circuit are catastrophic! And we’re not prepared to compromise on quality in ANY area. But still, we have to PLAY, even if it’s to small crowds occasionally, which isn’t good... But I have to add, that we had a great time at ALL our gigs, and so did everyone else that was there, I think. So, THANKS TO EVERYONE that was there at our shows! Unfortunately, I can’t promise that things will change, but we’re doing our best. Our next gig will be at the Sziget (Island) Festival at 6 p.m. Aug. 3 on the Hammerworld stage.
Sign of life
Well, we’re back again. I know, I know, it’s been a while since we last updated our site, but luckily that’s because I’m so busy that I can’t simply can’t get everything done :). That means we’ve got heaps to do... and life goes on even if we ‘disappear’ from time to time... Just taking things one step at a time, from the bottom to the top... (July 15, Fábi)
Thanks
We’d just like to pass on our thanks to all of you who came along to the record release concert. That was the longest gig we’ve ever played. Hope you all had a good time... :-)
Record Release Concert

The official record release concert for our new Hungarian album "Terra Incognita" will take place at the Wigwam in Budapest on February 7, 2003 (the birthday of Peter Linka who translates all our lyrics into English!). We'll also be doing dedications of the album that afternoon from 2 p.m. at MCD (near the Nyugati Railway Station), so bring along your CD's and cassettes!!!... Nov. 30

Terra Incognita
Our new Hungarian album "Terra Incognita" should be in the shops in Hungary by the first week of December... Nov. 25
The show did go on...
... What a great gig!!! On the way home from our performance at Tatabánya, we stopped at a petrol station (surprise, surprise!!) for a coffee. The guy and the girl behind the counter spotted that we were musicians (funny about that) and asked us to play something for them, because it was the guy's birthday that day. We didn't want to create a scene, but they eventually managed to talk us into it... Perhaps it was the vast quantities of Metaxa they offered us that finally brought us around!! In the end, we were still partying on at the petrol station at 6:30 in the morning :-)))... when the boss arrived!! He ordered the staff into the office, and we slowly headed off home, for the second time that day... We truly hope he didn't kick the guy and girl out. But if he looks at the security camera's video recording... well... who knows...?! Nov. 18
Metal Millennium Festival

They're holding a Metal Millennium Festival at the Pushkin Community Center in Tatabánya on November 16. We'll be playing from around 11 p.m., ahead of Nevergreen. Come along, because it should be a good gig, and it'll our last live performance this year... Nov. 8

Back from Hagen
We're back!!! This studio gig in Hagen was a real adventure... so was everything that went with it! It took us 14 hours to get there and we started work the next day. Our hotel was awesome: in the middle of a forest, half an hour from town. Dennis, our Woodhouse sound engineer, really took a liking to us. He said that we worked so fast and so well, he couldn't understand why we were only recording 2 tracks there. Siggi Bemm also seemed very satisfied with us. Antje, the girl who manages the studio, did all she could to help us out. Unfortunately, we couldn't hang around for the mixing, because Kovenant fell behind with their album, and Siggi had to finish that... Kovenant's guitarist said he also digged us... The trip home only took 13 hours, even though we tried to stop at every petrol station for coffee... :-)) So we left the mixing to Siggi. He'll send us the finished product once he's done. We can hardly wait, because even the unmixed version sounded great to us... Oct. 20

More Woodhouse
We'll be leaving for the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen on October 15. We're all real anxious... :-)))) Oct. 5

We're getting ready to go to Woodhouse! We've decided what we'll record there: Rainbow's "Gates of Babylon" and Queensryche's "The Mission". We'll probably be going around mid October, because that's when they can fit us in... Sept. 24

Label & Distributor
"Terra Incognita" will probably see the light of day in Hungary late November, early December. It'll be released by GU^LA Records and distributed by Record Express... Sept. 12.

Our first English album "EDEN?" has arrived!!!
Yes, the day has finally come: the release of our first English language album "EDEN?"!!! However, we still haven't found a label for our new Hungarian album. We'll probably release it just like everything before it, through GU^LA Records... Sept. 3

Studio
We just finished mixing our new Hungarian album "Terra Incognita". We're currently looking for a label... Aug. 15

Journey
We'll be heading to Hagen, Germany in mid-September to record 2 covers; that's for sure... What will they be? That's a surprise... Aug. 7

Third album
We finished recording our third Hungarian album, and we'll soon be mixing it. We'll probably won't be able to release it before November. We broke our own studio record: 65 minutes of music for the concept album recorded in only 10 days! Now there's really nothing left but the mixing... Aug. 2

Naturally, we'll be taking full advantage of the opportunity. Siggi Bemm will produce the 2 tracks we record there. That's the same studio where Grip. Inc. recorded their "Nemesis" album... Check out the studio at www.woodhouse.de March 8

Iron Maiden Song
On June 22, NEMESIS recorded Iron Maiden's "To Tame a Land" at Töfi's Denevér (Bat) studio in Szolnok. The track will be one of a series on Töfi's Iron Maiden Tribute compilation. The interesting thing about the compilation is that Hungarian bands (i.e. Stonehenge, Perfect Symmetry, De Capo... and many others) will perform all the tracks.
GODDESS NEMESIS
The band has started work writing material for the GODDESS NEMESIS instrumental project album, and they're also writing new tracks for the band's third album.
