| ... That moment in the blinding white light of the time-tunnel on the road to far-away was perhaps eternity itself, a true wonder. My body was filled with inexpressible, indescribable tranquility as I arrived at a milk-like, blindingly-white, seemingly-endless place. A land of haze. Pure light gently supported my body as faces emerged out of the mist and began touching my soul with their shadowy hands. This is the place where our souls always lived, and will continue living till the end of time. I immediately felt that I was one of them. Then a strange, dual feeling took hold of me: a feeling of tranquility and disappointment. I'm not the slightest bit afraid of death anymore, that is, if death is the only way to make it here... Why must we struggle all our lives on Earth if this is where we end up anyway? And if we end up here anyway, then what does it matter how we lived our lives on Earth? I was both regretful and pleased that I had to return, but I didn't know whether I'd be capable of keeping the secret... A flash, and I found myself in my bed once more, next to my boyfriend. But I couldn't sleep. I watched the raindrops rolling down the window pane, as if the world were celebrating my return with tears of joy... |
